We chose Sovana Bistro to celebrate a family member's 70th birthday. Overall, the experience was great, with mostly hits and a couple of misses when it came to the food. Overall Ratings: Restaurant: (4/5) Service: (4/5) Food: (4/5) Parking: Free parking lot Atmosphere: The restaurant is visually impressive--clean, modern, and inviting. One major plus is that they can accommodate large groups, which many places struggle with. Service: Our server was excellent--friendly, prompt, and accommodating. However, one issue stood out: while gratuity for large groups was expected, we were not informed about the additional 5% credit card fee, which most restaurants typically absorb. Food (Hit or Miss) -- We ordered a variety of items, with mixed results: -Crispy Brussels Sprouts - Excellent -Kids' Pizza - Overpriced and below average -Potato Soup - Watery and lacking depth of flavor -Grilled Sea Bass - Delicious but small portion for the price -NY Steak Special - Great flavor, well-balanced sides Final Thoughts: Overall, we had a great experience and would return for special occasions. I appreciate that the menu changes seasonally, keeping things fresh. Looking forward to trying new dishes on our next visit!

The food - the variety of selection, the deliciousness, and quantity did not disappoint. The ervice was very good, but we dined at 3 pm, between the lunch and dinner rushes. However, I think the folks that run this Willowdale / Kennett square staple have become just a tad arrogant. Charging a $25 pp no show.... They dont even do that in NYC or Philly. You're good but not that good. And $11 for ONE bottle of pelligrino. I can get 15 bottles of the same at Costco for $27. Get back down to earth folks.

Sovana Bistro. Soviet Butcher in English, for those of you who didn't know. I'm just kidding. That is a joke. At this restaurant, the service was mild. Our waitress said that the dish "Basil Fettuccine" was a 4 out of 10 spicy-ness. I don't know what kind of taste buds she has, but that dish made me feel like my mouth was the Chicago fire. Or maybe that was just me. Anyway, that was definitely like a 9, not a four. I couldn't even taste my drink. I don't know if I was having complete thoughts. Besides that, the service was great. It was really crowded, and we got our food in 18 minutes and 2.43 seconds. The ambiance was great, the place looked and felt welcoming and enamored. I felt very delegated to be there. The food was good for the rest of my family. Mine was too, just a little spicy. Be prepared if you get that dish, and don't trust the waitress' spice judgment!

Food I can be delicious, and both the ambiance and service are first class. The pizzas are a local legend. Be sure, however, to inquire whether your selection is entirely prepared on site, or simply thawed and heated, as was the case with a steak I wanted rare. I was told it was impossible, because the steak was precooked and then heated up.

Chicken liver pattie, squid ink pasta, creme brulee. Service was great. We'll be back

As someone who has the palate of a child but loves a good dining atmosphere, I definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff were friendly, and our server was attentive without being overly annoying. The Artisanal Pepperoni Pizza was filling, and the Black Truffle Mac & Cheese appetizer was absolutely delicious

Came for New Year's Eve and reserved a high top in the bar area. We arrived early and were seated immediately. Our server was Matt and he was awesome. We ordered champagne to toast the New Year and ordered a few appetizers to start. Apps came out fast and were so good. We had the Tuna Tartare and the Carpaccio of Wagyu Beef and scallops. For dinner we ordered Butternut Squash Ravioli, duck leg confit, short rib and steak. The ravioli was very good with plenty of flavor and the short rib was melt in your mouth good. Both the steak and duck were cooked perfectly. We love the atmosphere here and the service was excellent. Great start to the new year!

I've heard such great things about Sovana and I was so excited to try it out. The inside is gorgeous with a boho/farmhouse vibe. The bar is a cool curved shape with super comfy chairs. The libation menu is pretty huge and they had pretty cool flights to choose from. The cocktails are pretty pricey but look delicious! The truffle Mac and Cheese was absolutely creamy and delicious! The Brussels were extremely underwhelming. They weren't crispy at all and tasted kind of burnt. The mushroom pizza was a hit (obviously near the mushroom capital)! I'd come back for a few of the menu items but I was as impressed as I intended to be!
